Croyde Starry Sky Ceilings

Creating a new ambience and focal point within the room.

Croyde Starry Sky Ceilings are available in a wide range of designs and colours. Popular above birthing pools, in low-risk active birth rooms and bereavement suites, they help to create a distracting visual experience and focal point within the room.

The ceilings require no specialist installation and attach directly to the main ceiling. The LED lights are designed to twinkle like a night sky and RGB edge lighting is also included as a standard feature to softly illuminate the surrounding area.

Ceilings are produced in circular form as the standard configuration with a size of 1.32m diameter; however, bespoke designs and sizes are also available upon request. You can check out some of the design options in the image gallery below.

We are also able to create ceilings that are the exact shape and size of the birthing pool or bed.  An excellent consideration for aligning the two products’ form and function.

As an example, you could have a Croyde Starry Sky ceiling that is exactly the same shape as the birthing pool below it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the lead time ?

Usually around 6 – 8 weeks.  Each ceiling is bespoke to your order

What sizes are there ?

We have standard sizes and deigns but if you have a specific size in mind, just let us know.  We can produce any shape or size

How do they attach to the ceiling ?

They are not installed into the main ceiling (not recessed into it to the same level) they are attached onto it.  They do not need any space above the main ceiling, they simply screw in.  Specialist installation is not required, the attachment is very simple and could easily be done by the hospital’s Estates team.  The main ceiling does need to be weight bearing though as the Croyde ceiling weighs approx 8kg per square metre

What lights are included within the designs ?

Most ceilings have twinkling LED white lights and RGB colour changing edge lighting around the outside.  Our recommended ceiling for use above birthing pools is the midnight blue background with the twinkling LED lights and edge lighting
