INFECTION CONTROL

In clinical settings where sterility is essential, the Safewarm Patient Warming Mattress offers a dependable and hygienic alternative to conventional warming systems.

Unlike forced air methods, it uses conductive heat, eliminating air circulation around the patient. This helps preserve sterile fields and minimises the risk of airborne contamination.

As a result, it’s particularly well-suited for orthopaedic theatres and plastic or reconstructive surgeries, where maintaining strict infection control is critical.

EFFICIENT HEATING

SHORT WARMING TIME

The Safewarm Blankets can reach 37°C in just 5-7 minutes, offering fast, homogenous and reliable warming to patients that need their body temperature regulated.

ACCURATE CONTROL

There is an accuracy of 0.1°C when controlling the blanket, offering additional sensitivity and flexibility to health professionals when determining the best temperature for their patient.

SAFETY CUT-OFF

Built-in sensors mean the blanket will automatically cut-off heat if it reaches a temperature of 42°C, ensuring it remains safe by avoiding overheating.

MULTI-CHANNEL CONTROL PANEL

The advanced control unit for the Safewarm Patient Warming Blanket features three independent channels, allowing simultaneous operation of up to three Safewarm mattresses and/or blankets.

This provides greater flexibility in tailoring patient warming setups to suit individual needs in both surgical and recovery settings.

CONDUCTIVE HEAT VS FORCED AIR

Although forced air systems remain useful in certain scenarios, conductive heating offers a cleaner, quieter and more efficient alternative for many surgical environments. The comparison below highlights key differences in infection control, noise levels, equipment compatibility and overall performance.

FEATURE CONDUCTIVE HEAT FORCED AIR
Infection Risk Low (no airflow) Higher (airflow across theatre)
Noise Level Silent Moderate noise (uses a blower unit)
Draping Compatibility Excellent Can obstruct surgical field
Reusability Reusable (long life) Single-use blankets
Operating Cost Low (after initial purchase) High (ongoing consumables)
Sustainability Green (no waste) Waste-generating
Temperature Delivery Consistent, even Variable

DESIGNED TO BE SAFE

 AUDIO-VISUAL ALARMS

The blanket and controller each contain independent microprocessors that trigger both visual and audible alarms in the event of a fault, ensuring swift and effective response.

 X-RAY TRANSLUCENT

The blanket core is constructed from carbon fibre, allowing X-rays to pass through easily. This enables continuous patient warming during imaging procedures without interference.

LOW VOLTAGE

The heating system operates at a safe, low voltage of 24V, significantly reducing the risk of electrical shock and enhancing patient safety.

EASY TO USE

Designed for simplicity and efficiency, the Safewarm Patient Warming Blanket simplifies everyday clinical routines, allowing healthcare professionals to stay focused on their top priority - delivering quality patient care.
